As part of its Questions, Answered series, the Canadian Autoinflammatory Network - Réseau Auto-inflammatoire Canadien has invited University College London and NHS' Dr. Helen Lachmann to teach autoinflammatory disease patients about covering conception, pregnancy and breastfeeding in general, as well as specifics concerning some specific drug interactions.

Helen Lachmann trained in medicine at the University of Cambridge & at University College London. In 1999, following postgraduate training in internal medicine & nephrology, she started her research in amyloidosis. She is President of the International Society of Autoinflammatory Diseases and leads two national highly specialised services, the UK National Amyloidosis Centre and the CAPS and Systemic Autoinflammatory Diseases Service. She has published more than 300 papers & her main scientific interests are focused on the genetics & management of the systemic autoinflammatory diseases & characterization & treatment of acquired & hereditary systemic amyloidosis.
